heres the finale of the nightcrawler/blob pic. the prize was colours by the ever-uber monk. rather than do the rather BLAH blob that i did, he just did the nightcrawler, and made him look great! i really love it. the guy is just sick on the colours. do me a solid and check him out wont you? thanks for looking, throw some C&C at us if you like. thanks!
peace! -kryss - lines - colours
original pencils and the whole piece can be found in my scraps gallery.
I am curious...how do you go about getting somebody to cg your pencils?
I am kinda on the fence about learning my own cgs. To be honest, I would rather spend all my time perfecting my pencils and inks, than take a ton of time doing cg, and getting less sketching done. Is it better to focus on one, or do it all and progress your skills slower?
well... to be honest... i usually dont ask people to cg my stuff. i used to, but i stopped because i dont like rejection. hahah. ive been blessed by talented people seeing something in my art that they wanted to take it and make it better - lately anyway. but even that comes in waves. sometimes i do something and im like "i bet someone will want to colour this!" - and then it gets brushed under the rug hahah. such is the life of an artist.
i practice pencils and cg. since i only have elements on this comp, and not reg PS7, i dont know how to use it very well so its slow going. but id like to be able to do it all myself. and as far as it taking time... well... wheres the rush? for me anyway, there is none. focus on one and obviously you will improve probably leaps and bounds in small amounts of time - as opposed to taking longer cuz ur trying to do more than one.
heres a thought for you tho - the last pic i cg'd and was happy with - took me 30 minutes to pencil - and 3 days to cg. now again, im not a colourist - but that might tell you something. i dunno.
Yeah...my big cgs have taken about an hour for the sketch, but 12-15 with digital inks and cgs...I think youre right, the more time you can put into it, the better the result will be...

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
